Douglas Kelsey's car (before the crash)

Douglas Kelsey, for those who haven't had the pleasure, is one of the characters in my novel, In The Rooms, which I'm currently going through with my American editor in time for publication next year. Kelsey is an author and an alcoholic, loosely based on some of the great literary drunks — John Cheever, Raymond Carver, Richard Yates, Frederick Exley. I decided to give him a Chevy Caprice, one of the old cop cars, like the one driven by Starsky and Hutch. He drives it into a snowbank.
